Hello, welcome to my Old School New Body reviews article. Several legends like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sergio Oliva, and Frank Zane built their legacies upon the world of bodybuilding. How they could do it? Simple, they followed an effective workout plan. Your workout goal can be weight loss, achieving a great body shape, or bodybuilding. But getting the right workout plan is super important. This article is a review of a popular workout program called Old School New Body.
What is Old School New Body?
Old School New Body is a digital workout routine and diet plan designed by Steve Holman and his wife Becky Holman. This innovative workout plan was inspired by Vince Gironda (popularly known as ‘Iron Guru’) who worked with many Hollywood celebrities including Clint Eastwood, Carl Weathers, and Suzanne Summers.
In the history of bodybuilding, the period 1950 to 1970 is known as the golden period of bodybuilding and Vince Gironda belongs to this golden era. He was famous throughout Hollywood for his surprisingly fast workout results.
As per the website information, Steve Holman was editor-in-chief of Iron Man magazine, one of the oldest and most popular fitness magazines in the world, for many years. He picked some of Gironda’s old-school techniques and modified them for the present generation.

Program Design and Contents
The Old School New Body fitness program contains the following four components.
The Core Program
This is an ebook and contains background and motivational information, exercise instructions, nutritional information, meal plans, the history of F4X exercise, and many more. This book contains only 101 pages and you should read it before using the F4X Quick start guide. This book is an easy read. So read this first.
F4X Quick Start Guide
This short ebook contains only 15 pages. This guide lists the different workout plans and exercises under the F4X system. It is better to read this component after reading the other three components of the program.
F4X is an abbreviation of Focus 4 Exercises. It is a modified version of legendary Vince Gironda’s workout system. F4X workout identifies the following four core exercises as the most effective.
- Squats
- Incline presses
- Bent over rows
- Upright rows
The F4X system designs three workout plans. Each plan focuses on a particular fitness goal and includes the above four core exercises. Irrespective of plans, the maximum required workout time is 60 minutes.
The three workout plans under the F4X system are the following.
F4X LEAN
This plan is meant for beginners. It contains the four core exercises. You will never take more than 30 minutes to finish it. Do it three times a week.
F4X SHAPE
This workout plan enhances the intensity of exercises. It contains the same four core exercises but at a higher intensity level. You will take around 45 minutes to finish the workout plan. Do it three times a week.
F4X BUILD
This is the most intense of the three plans. You have to do the same four core exercises. You will be able to complete the exercises in one hour’s time. This plan requires you to do workout four times a week.
Tips: If you are not in the mood to do a particular plan or don’t have enough time, you can always go in between these plans (say, between F4X LEAN and F4X SHAPE or between F4X SHAPE and F4X BUILD).
A smaller number of exercises along with lower weights set apart the F4X workout protocol from other workout systems. Where does this idea come from? It came from the legendary Vince Gironda. In his workout system, lower weights are done for more sets with minimal rest.
Special Reports
This is the third component of the Old School New Body program. You will get various special reports relating to anti-aging, health and happiness, fat burning, and muscle building. These reports are essentially tips and recommendations about the food and supplements that are ideal for you.
Audio Interviews
This component contains interviews with legendary bodybuilders and fitness professionals like Tom Venuto, Christy Frank, Jennifer Nicole Lee, Bill Philips, Tom Platz, Shawn Philips, etc.
